Meta's Muse agent arrives on iPad with business connectors and goal-based planning
Meta released a native iPad version of its Muse AI agent about a month after the mobile launch, but the bigger change is for businesses: new connectors to tools like QuickBooks, Figma and GitHub, plus a mode that plans work from a stated goal.

Muse 10.0 runs natively on iPadOS 18 or later. The update also adds connectors to Asana, Canva, Dropbox, Figma, QuickBooks, GitHub, Klaviyo, Zoom, Notion, Granola and Meta ad accounts. It also adds a mode where a user sets a business goal and Muse plans work such as marketing, client pitches and product pages. Sensor Tower estimates 6.6 million installs since the September launch. [1] [2] [9]
The iPad app is part of a fast expansion. Muse is now on web, iOS, Android, WhatsApp and Mac. Meta has also announced retail partners, a keychain-sized Muse Charm device it aims to ship in December, and support on its glasses. Meta says it expects to make money mainly from small transaction fees, not only subscriptions, and it reports more than 1,500 connector applications in the first week. [5] [6] [7] [8]
Meta says its Muse Spark 1.3 model uses about 20% fewer tool calls and 25% fewer tokens than version 1.2, and that it resists prompt injection better. These are Meta's own figures. The announcement post gives no benchmark numbers in its text and no reproducible evaluation setup. [3]
Agent tasks run on a dedicated cloud VM. Meta says this VM is kept separate from its advertising systems and that a separate oversight agent watches the work. On Mac, users must opt in to file and app access, and deleting files or sending messages needs approval. TechCrunch notes that Meta's privacy record may still make consumers hesitate. [4] [5]
Muse now connects to accounting, design, code and ad tools and can work toward business goals. Implication: handing over goals rather than single tasks raises the stakes of permissions and approvals.

Being reachable by agents may also become a distribution channel for retailers and developers.
Executive brief
Meta's Muse agent went from mobile launch to a native iPad app in about a month. Instagram took 15 years to get an iPad app (TechCrunch). The iPad support was one line in the release notes. The rest of the update matters more to businesses: new connectors (Figma, QuickBooks, GitHub and others) and a mode where a user sets a business goal and Muse plans marketing, client pitches and product pages (The Verge). Sensor Tower estimates 6.6 million installs since launch, which TechCrunch reports (TechCrunch).
What changed and event timeline
Muse Spark 1.3 model
Meta says its agent model improves on agentic and coding tasks, with about 20% fewer tool calls and 25% fewer tokens than version 1.2. These are Meta's own figures ().
Muse launches
It came out on web, iOS, Android and WhatsApp. Tasks run on a cloud "Muse Secure VM," and payments go through Stripe Link. There is a free tier plus $20 and $100 monthly plans ().
Mac app ships
The desktop agent works with files, Mail, Calendar, Notes and Messages. Access is opt-in, and deleting files or sending messages needs approval (;).
Connect announcements
Meta added retail partners (Best Buy, Gap, Sephora, Walmart, Wayfair), showed a real-time avatar and said Muse is coming to its glasses. Zuckerberg said Meta expects to make money from small transaction fees ().
Muse Charm revealed
It is a keychain-sized device with an OLED screen, a fingerprint sensor to wake Muse and a 5G modem. Meta is aiming to ship it in December and hasn't announced a price ().
iPad app arrives
Muse 10.0 runs natively on iPadOS 18 or later and adds business connectors and goal-based planning (;).

Technical analysis for researchers and developers
- Where work runs: Agent tasks run on a dedicated cloud VM with its own browser.
- Model training: Meta says it trained the model across many different agent harnesses so it would generalize, and that it is better calibrated about irreversible actions.
- Web access: Websites often mistake agents for bots and block them. Meta has proposed an open standard for agents to identify themselves (TechCrunch).

Context and prior work
The Verge places Muse against OpenClaw, ChatGPT's Dots and Grok Bot (The Verge). Muse Spark first appeared in April 2026 (Wikipedia)). Meta is spreading Muse across many surfaces: mobile, WhatsApp, web, Mac, iPad, the Charm device and glasses. Its stated plan is to make money from transaction fees rather than only subscriptions (TechCrunch).
Limitations, safety and contested findings
- Trust: TechCrunch points to Meta's privacy record, including the 2019 FTC penalty of $5 billion and Cambridge Analytica, as a reason consumers may hesitate.
- Reviewer unease: The Verge's own related review headline says Muse "works and creeps me out" (The Verge).
- Conflicting Mac timeline: Other outlets date the Mac launch to about Sep 17–18, but TechCrunch's Sep 23 roundup still called the Mac app "coming soon" (TechCrunch; Business Today).
